This part sucks. Just really sucks. I go in tomorrow to drop off my blood for my second beta test. The last numbers were good, but now we are looking to double that number. I keep thinking - that was a great number why can't we just go home now and call me pregnant? Too bad - I guess I need to go through this bullshit again.
So this is what will happen. I will drive to the clinic, get my blood drawn, go to work, try not to look at my phone, start actively staring at my phone around 1:30 or so and then obsess. Are they giving bad news last? Why did I have to marry a guy with a last name that starts with W? Then the scenario breaks off into three separate situations:
(1) My beta is HIGH! I will be HAPPY! But then I will go right back to where I am right now. Such a high beta can't possibly be expected to double. IT IS NOT FAIR!
(2) My beta is meh. I will obsessively google until I reach the ends of the internet universe. I will cry and pout and scream and cry. I will question everything.
(3) My beta is GONE. I will be devastated. I will throw, drink, and smoke things. I will then pick myself off of the floor and into the stirrups for my FET, which is already paid for.
Rest assured readers, whichever of these scenarios plays out...you will hear all about it!

ReplyDeleteI felt exactly this way! I was more nervous for the 2nd beta than the first one! They told me they would call between 2:00-3:00 and I didn't get a phone call till almost 4:00!!! I was dying! But then I got good news :) so hopefully you will get your good news too. And then the worry sets in for the ultrasound.... Guh. Don't you just wish we could be happy and excited and not have all the worries? I've got my fingers and toes crossed for you!!
